What YOU Can Do to Defend Public Education

• Organize locally and globally with students, parents and the PTA, teachers, the California Faculty Association (CFA), churches, community groups, and other campuses within the CSU, high schools and community colleges
  
  
• Your voice and your personal stories are powerful! Contact the governor, your elected representatives, school administrators, and the CSU chancellor and board of trustees - write, call and email all of them.
  
  
• Visit your elected representatives at their field offices and in Sacramento.
  
  
• Spread the word! Write letters to the editor and opinion pieces for local newspapers, web sites and social media using YouTube, Twitter, Face Book, My Space and blogspots.
  
  
• Help to organize and participate in teach-ins, protest actions, rallies and press conferences at your campus.
  
  
• Advocate for legislation for more CSU budget transparency (SB 218) and a tax on oil companies (AB 656) to fund public education.
